Scrapbusting Sewalong
Sunday 18th August 2024
10am - 4pm
You can sew any pattern or item which helps you to bust those scraps you have piling up! Whether you are patching out pieces to make a garment, making a pouf or testing out some bags, underwear, toys, coasters, rope bowl.... come scrapbust together with other makers doing the same!
Whatever pattern and stage of a project you are at, you are welcome to join in and chat and sew together. Asking for help is encouraged - sessions often have attendees with a range of experience and knowledge.
Pattern Suggestions
The internet is full of pattern inspiration and here are a few suggested patterns and blogs to feel inspired about scraps of all sizes. All bold/teal text are links to websites to find out more.
My personal experience with scrapbusting include;
Closet Core Pouf (making it and stuffing it)
Quilts - perfect for small pieces
Baby and childrens clothes - ideal for awkward ‘big’ scraps
Knickers - medium/large scraps
Bookmarks - tiny scraps
Patchwork Overlocker (image right) - made with really awkward small shapes.
Sanitary Pads - small/medium scraps.
Hair scrunchies - rectangular pieces!
Block tops or garments -a top of two halves
Pockets for garments, in-seam and patch. Small/medium.
Here are a selection of blogs which can inspire you further with pattern suggestions. Click the bold titles to find out more from these suggested links.
